Dr. Christopher Ray – Medical Director
Dr. Ray came to Hermitage Animal Clinic in 2012 after working at Brentwood Veterinary Clinic. He is a Nashville native and attended Hillsboro High School. Dr. Ray became interested in animals at a young age and was encouraged after several years working in the construction industry to pursue his veterinary degree. Dr. Ray received his undergraduate degree from MTSU and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The University of Tennessee in 2010. He is married to Amy Ray and has two children, Anna and Wesley. His family enjoys the company of two dogs (Beau and Rosy) as well as three cats (Lilly, Gertie and Nola). In his spare time Dr. Ray enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, sports (UT, Titans and Predators), keeping aquarium fish and corals as well as gardening.

Dr. Meghan McLean – Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Meghan McLean is originally from Bowling Green, KY. Veterinary medicine has always been a passion of hers since a young age. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Auburn University and received her DVM from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and preventative care education. The most enjoyable part of her job is strengthening the bond between an owner and their pet. She strives to be the best advocate for her patient and improve their quality of life.
Dr. McLean is married with one child, two dogs, and a cat. Outside of work, she enjoys college football (War Eagle!), being on the lake, and spending time with her family. She is excited to join the team at Hermitage Animal Clinic!
Dr. Melissanne Dalena – Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Melissanne Dalena was born and raised in Connecticut. She attended North Caroline State University graduating with a bachelor’s in Poultry Science and Animal Sciences.
She migrated south and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to returning to Tennessee, she completed a one year small animal internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in North Carolina.
She is passionate about a well rounded career special interest in small animal soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
Outside of work she is all about family, loves to cook Italian for those around her, and loves spending her time kayaking and hiking with her two dogs Maverick and Lucy-Goose.
Mandy Kelly – Hospital Manager
Mandy joined Hermitage Animal Clinic in the spring of 2020 with extensive experience in veterinary medicine. Prior to entering management, she worked as a veterinary technician for 15+ years in both general practice and emergency medicine. Mandy stays busy caring for her husband, two children, three dogs, and one cat when she is not at work and enjoys cooking, pro football, and traveling in her spare time.
- Daniale Blunkall, LVMT
Daniale graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Columbia State Community College in 2007. She immediately started working at HAC as a full time licensed Veterinary Technician. She has been happily married since 2001 and has two wonderful daughters, as well as 3 dogs and two cats.
- Lindsey Conder, LVMT
Lindsey graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Volunteer State Community College in 2015 and shortly after she obtained her license in Veterinary Technology. She has always had a passion for animals and her and her husband have 4 dogs and several reptiles of their own.
- Megan Padgett, LVMT
Megan graduated from Heritage Institute in Florida, receiving her LVMT license in 2014. She completed an externship in exotic animal medicine before switching to emergency & critical care. After joining Hermitage Animal Clinic in the summer of 2019, she was promoted to Lead Technician and is responsible for the day to day duties on the floor. Her hobbies include hiking, fishing, music, and spending time with her husband, three cats, and one uromastyx lizard.
- Judy Guy
Judy graduated from Virginia Intermont College in 1982. She started working at Hermitage Animal Clinic in 1987 and has been with us ever since aside from two years that she worked as a canine obedience trainer. She enjoys utilizing her dog training skills to help clients with new puppies get on the right path to a happy healthy life.
- Rhiannon Ovchar
Rhiannon graduated from The University of Connecticut with her Bachelor of Science degree in 2016. After moving to Tennessee in 2018, she joined the Hermitage Animal Clinic team and has become a jack of all trades, working as a kennel attendent, receptionist, and assistant. In her spare time, you can find Rhiannon at any zoo or aquarium when she’s not busy spending time with her husband, two cats, and one bearded dragon.
