Talitha is a Practice Manager in Hermitage.
Born and raised in Northern Virginia my career in the veterinary industry began over 25 years ago when I left the Fashion Merchandising world for a role as a kennel assistant at a private practice. I quickly decided to return to school for my Veterinary Technician License and developed a deep passion for surgery, anesthesia, client communication and all things leadership.
After graduating with honors I immediately went on to work in specialty medicine and never looked back. After a rigorous internship I took a position with one of the top surgical specialty practices in Northern Virginia where my passion for the industry, its patients and clients continued to grow stronger.
Eventually, a desire for warmer weather led me to South Florida, where I had the exciting opportunity to establish and manage the surgery department of a large referral practice. There, I worked alongside some of the most respected experts in my field, learning from mentors and building lasting friendships. I have been fortunate enough to work in many different aspects of Veterinary Medicine including marine mammal rescue at Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, CA, Primate Medical Research at Georgetown University, shelter medicine and general practice.
My love of leadership, training, efficiency protocols, veterinarians, owners and their staff led me to the role as Veterinary Team Manager at VetCircle in Toronto, Canada where I did all things consulting and project management for independently owned veterinary practices. I understand where the industry needs improvement and want to help fill the voids that create burnout and poor quality of life for the people working so hard in it. Empowering team members is my passion, advocating for clients and their pets is my purpose and now Hermitage Veterinary Clinic is my new home!
